From the Acropolis to Omonia Square, you'll see all the famous sites and sights of ancient and modern Athens on this comprehensive tour. Offering a perfect overview of the modern city, this guided tour will help you get your bearings if this is your first visit to Athens.

The tour commences with the ancient Panathinaiko Stadium, cradle of the first modern Olympic Games of 1896 (short stop). Pass by the Prime Minister's residence, the ex Royal Palace, (guarded by the colourful Evzones in traditional costume), and the Zappion Conference and Exhibition Hall.

The tour continues by passing by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, noted for its very tall columns, the National GardensHadrian´s Arc (Roman), St. Paul´s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown SoldierSchliemann´s House (Numismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, Academy, University, National Library, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally the Acropolis (visit Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens). Continue the expert guided Athens sightseeing and museum tour with a pleasant short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theatre, in order to visit the new Acropolis museum, where main attractions such as votives, artefacts of everyday life, statues from the archaic period, the Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon Hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze will all deeply impress you with their artistic beauty and sublime levels of workmanship. After a morning full of images continue in a local restaurant under the slopes of Acropolis for lunch.

After lunch depart for a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of Athens´ most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) to Cape Sounion, which is only 45 miles (70 km) from Athens, making it the perfect lazy afternoon destination. Cape Sounion is crowned by the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon and is a very special location where cannot fail to be deeply impressed and inspired by one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world.
