DAY 1: Arrival and visit to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion (optional)
Arrival at Athens airport and transfer by deluxe, air-conditioned car or coach to hotel. Free day. Depending on arrival time, depart for an optional tour with a wonderful drive along the scenic Athenian Riviera' coastal road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) to Cape Sounion and its 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon, where one is deeply impressed by one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world. Overnight at the hotel. 


DAY 2: Athens sightseeing and the new Acropolis Museum
The Athens full day tour comprises an extensive and wellthought-out collection of must-sees, which provide a rewarding and informative cross section of the ancient and the newer. The trip is by luxurious, air-conditioned car or coach with an expert guide. A number of stops for photos and/or guided walks are integral to the programme. The sights include the ancient Panathinaiko stadium, the temple of Olympian Zeus, which was one of the largest in antiquity, the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, the National Library and on to the National Gardens, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown soldier at Constitution Square, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, the Old Parliament, the Russian Orthodox Church and finally the Acropolis. There, your expert guide will provide exciting and inspiring information whilst leading your visit to fabulous parts of the Acropolis complex, such as the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, the illustrious Parthenon and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. You will then visit the fascinating new Acropolis museum, voted as being one of the top three museums in the world. Rest of day free for leisure or shopping. Overnight at the hotel.


DAY 3: Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, Nemea, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Nauplion
Depart for the impressive, 6.4 km (4 mile) - long Corinth Canal which was completed in 1893 and connects the Saronic and the Corinthian Gulfs (short stop). Visit Ancient Corinth and its extensive museum and the drive to the ancient city of Nemea where mythological Heracles slew the dreaded Lion with his bare hands. Visit the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the stadium, the theatre and the museum. Proceed to magnificent Mycenae. Visits to the archaeological site with its Lion gate and the Tomb of Agamemnon. The trip continues through the Argive Plain to Epidaurus and its renowed ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics as well as the Asclepion, celebrated in antiquity as a place of healing. Overnight stay in Nauplion.


Day 4: Ancient Olympia
Departure after breakfast for Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, through fascinating natural scenery of central Peloponnese. Visit to the archaeological site of Olympia with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Overnight stay in Olympia.


Day 5: Delphi
Departure for Delphi, archaeological site and museum. Visit the archaeological site of the Temple of Apollo, famous for its oracle and the museum of Delphi with its spectacular finds, including the bronze Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx and the Statue of Antinoos. Overnight in Delphi.


Day 6: Athens
Departure for Athens via the traditional and picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Free day for exploring and shopping in Athens with an optional walking tour. Overnight in Athens.


Day 7: Departure
Transfer by deluxe, air-conditioned car or coach to Athens airport for departure.
