DAY 1: Arrival and visit to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion (optional)
Arrival at Athens airport and transfer by deluxe, air-conditioned car or coach to hotel. Free day. Depending on arrival time, depart for an optional tour with a wonderful drive along the scenic Athenian Riviera' coastal road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) to Cape Sounion and its 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon, where one is deeply impressed by one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world. Overnight at the hotel. 

DAY 2: Athens sightseeing and the new Acropolis Museum
The Athens full day tour comprises an extensive and wellthought-out collection of must-sees, which provide a rewarding and informative cross section of the ancient and the newer. The trip is by luxurious, air-conditioned car or coach with an expert Russian-speaking guide. A number of stops for photos and/or guided walks are integral to the programme. The sights include the ancient Panathinaiko stadium, the temple of Olympian Zeus, which was one of the largest in antiquity, the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, the National Library and on to the National Gardens, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown soldier at Constitution Square, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, the Old Parliament, the Russian Orthodox Church and finally the Acropolis. There, your expert guide will provide exciting and inspiring information whilst leading your visit to fabulous parts of the Acropolis complex, such as the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, the illustrious Parthenon and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens.

You will then visit the fascinating new Acropolis museum, voted as being one of the top three museums in the world. Rest of day free for leisure or shopping. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: Corinth Canal, Epidaurus, Nauplion, Mycenae, Olympia
Depart for the impressive, 6.4 km (4 mile) -long Corinth Canal which was completed in 1893 and connects the Saronic and the Corinthian Gulfs (short stop). Proceed through the plain of Argos and arrive to Mycenae. Visits to the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon followed by the visit to the splendid archaeological complex of Epidaurus with its huge ancient theatre of world-renowned acoustics. Overnight stay in the lovely town of Nauplion.

Day 4: Swimming at Tolo
Trip to the beautiful beaches of Tolo for a well-deserved break for sea, sun and sand! Departure for illustrious Olympia.

Day 5: Olympia, Delphi
Visit of the archaeological site of Olympia with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Depart via Patras to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay by the new bridge to Antirrion,  pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there on to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. In the afternoon visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Overnight stay in Delphi.

Day 6: Delphi, Meteora
Visit the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi. Depart for Kalambaka via Central Greece (short stop by Lamia). Overnight stay in Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the majestic rocks and crowned by the Meteora Monasteries).

Day 7: The Byzantine monasteries of Meteora

Leave in the morning for the unique, precipitous rock formations of Meteora, one of the most dramatic locations in Greece, where early 14th century Christian monasteries were built on the summits of almost vertical natural sandstone outcrops. We will visit them to discover wonderful wall paintings and ecclesiastical treasures and icons.


Return to Athens passing the monument of Spartan King Leonidas at Thermopylae which commemorates the epic battle of 480 BC between the Greeks and the countless Persian hordes. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer by deluxe, air-conditioned car or coach to Athens airport for departure.
